Sounds like I am done either way.

I dunno how you guys solved the level, but I think my approach was rather unconventional. No catapults involved whatsoever.

I've used a stupid catapult and a pendulum.
I've tried some unconventional ideas but couldn't get any to work.

6 pieces catapult,
2 pieces to be balanced on top of the orange ball,
2 pieces pendulum

:( I am so sorry about this but i am afraid that i am going to be a bad contest host right now. I currently have 4 super important thing that just popped up, any 1 or even 2 of these thing i could handle while maintaining this comp, 3 would be a stretch, but the with 4 fourth thing i will have absolutly no time for anything recreational for about a week. I will update everything at that time. I you guys want to post your solutions, go for it. id36 won, then patacoman, then guzman, then iam. i know that a few people have been waiting for me to finish this comp before they start theirs, you may as well start it now. i am really sorry about this, I am in the perfect storm.

Don't worry, I think we all understand your situation.
You really create good competitions employing lots of your time,
so if you say that important things popped up, we understand.

Here's my solve, quite natural in its idea, nothing particularly special.

guzman 10 pieces: http://www.sparkworkz.com/fc2/index.php?designId=399504

Here is mine : http://www.sparkworkz.com/fc2/index.php?designId=399487

If my math is correct, 5 ticks shy of winning the round...
Nicely played, ID36. Can't wait to see your solve.
Best of luck to you and guzman when the comp resumes.

LKJ, thanks for hosting and the excellent levels.
I will try to keep playing along on the sidelines for fun.

Awesome !!!
as usual.

I've been trying similar ideas but I wasn't able to make them work.
You are really a master of extreme equilibria, catapults, harpoons, and clever ideas.

Wow, nicely played guys! Your solution surprised me, patacoman. I would never have thought that a 7pc was possible with a catapult. Here is my solution: http://www.sparkworkz.com/fc2/index.php?designId=398544
