Why do mods silence the ip address?

Again... Why do mod silence the ip address?
Why can't they just silence the account like they do with bans?????
C'mon I got silenced for like 3 weeks for PMing someone that I am leaving PR3!!!
My sister got mad!!!!!!!! So mods please just silence the account not the ip address.

They silence the IP because they think you have another account to play with.

Apparently, silencing the IP is supposed to stop "spammers". And it does work, but one slight problem with it:

THEY DON'T CHECK TO SEE IF IT'S A DIFFERENT PERSON OR NOT.
GETTING PUNISHED JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE DID IT ON YOUR IP DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
The person who did it is supposed to be punished, not the innocents. I have begged and pleaded, stated my case a thousand times, and yet they still ban me for things that Harrison1220, my friend who shares my IP, does.

There have been many, many people who left/are going to leave because of these unfair bans, so mods should've stepped up their work a long, long time ago.

People are not learning anything from being silenced unfairly, except for that PR3 sucks.

You achieve that lag by rapidly clicking the multiplayer button. :P

But karate, you should open that up in paint, black out the swear words, and reupload it. Actually black out the whole chat because those comebacks in the chat are just pathetic.
