Bug tracker

Postby Sorvius » Fri Jun 25, 2010 11:34 am

We want to make sure our games are running at top quality, but sometimes a pesky bug sneaks through the cracks. If something isn't quite right or you think you found an outright bug, post about it here and try to tell us how it happened so we can try it ourselves and fix it right away!

On your "Ice Mountain" track, on the first loop at the end the graphics are all swirled up..

I know you noticed it when you made it and probably already mentioned it but meh.. only thing I can think of.

You can fall so hard you go through the track. (Only happened on the decent custom level)

i made it through the whole level without wiping out :p you just cant land perfectly flat on the ground, you have to hit it leaning forward at like a 45 degree angle

That is called speed line-glitching and happens because the framerate vs the speed of the rider is skipping the frame where the collision happens. A simpler way to put it is SLOW DOWN lol. I love Downhill by the way, I love the speed and wipeouts and the hugeness xD The other stuff mentioned here is added to my list and will be sent to the programming team :)

wow thats complicated, i thought it was just that he hit it so hard that he went through it, like the line was to weak or something lol i was going to say that you could just make the lines thicker or something, but then you said that :p

Yeah, its something that has been happening since Line Rider was born, its just an issue of going so fast the game skips the frame that collides with the sled. My advice, if you are going to make a track like that, the hill should be somewhat parallel to the falling sled guy. That way you can still hit the line at mach 4, you could still glitch though if the lines don't gradually smooth out.

You can also do this on Ice Mountain at the very end; you can go right through the bump, but you still finish :p
