5400 coins?

Postby Runesan12 » Thu Jun 24, 2010 3:45 pm

that seems like it would take a while,
it took me like 30 minutes to get 400
so 5400/400=13.5
30x13.5=405 minutes
405 minutes= 6 hours and 45 minutes

so it would take like quite some time to complete it

Yeah, the idea was that you would get it after an average of a week of play. It should take far less than 7 hours though, as you will hit the larger bonus coin payouts.

The cost isn't set in stone though. It's just an initial number.

And the idea behind requring around a week of play is to make sure new users don't make tracks until after they've gained and understanding of the game and raced a bunch of tracks so they use that experience to inform their track designs and hopefully make better tracks. Same logic is behind charging coins to publish a track--hopefully that raises the quality of tracks that are published.

And to piggyback on what JohnnyWasabi said here, we want the tracks that are produced to be quality tracks, and once you have the editor and start publishing you own tracks, you earn coins every time someone plays them :)

Alright, we got another one! If you've unlocked the editor, see what you can do and publish it :)

Good job Hero88go! I'd give you mine if i could (4,500 currently). But if you play Tour Mode with the intent of getting top times you'll have a lot of coins without feeling like you're "grinding" as much.
