INXILE RE-RELEASES THE BARDS TALE™ ON STEAM™!
inXile entertainment brings the beloved Bard to a new generation of fans via online digital download on the Steam network!
Newport Beach, Calif. – December 14, 2009 – inXile entertainment is excited to re-release The Bards Tale directly to PC players via the Steam network. Originally released on Xbox, PlayStation 2, and Windows XP in 2004, the game now supports Windows Vista as well.
The Bards Tale™ is a fantasy action/role-playing game in which the player assumes the role of the Bard, a sardonic and opportunistic musician and adventurer, who cares not about saving the world, but just might…if provided enough coin and cleavage to keep him interested along the way! The game features a unique “Snarky or Nice” conversation system which allows choosing the Bard’s tone with the characters he encounters, but has the Bard constantly surprising and amusing the player with the outrageous things he says!
“IGN recognized The Bard’s Tale in its Best of 2004 awards with ‘Best Game No One Played’, and it’s so true! Everyone that played it loved the humor and enjoyed the game, but it was released against some huge titles back then so it was largely overlooked. The Steam network is giving this gem of a game a chance to entertain new players and folks that may have missed it the first time around.” says Brian Fargo, founder and CEO of inXile entertainment
The Bard’s Tale has been lauded in numerous reviews for its well spun story, biting humor and laugh-out-loud moments delivered with outstanding voice acting from Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) as the Bard, and the distinctive baritone of Tony Jay as the sarcastic Narrator.
